Here at Sound Connections, we support all learners in reaching their utmost potential. We look forward to assisting your child in their academic journey, no matter the starting point!
STRUCTURED AND CUMULATIVE
Sound Connections activities develop a strong foundation and build knowledge from the bottom up. Establishing a strong base is fundamental to a successful literacy progression. Once a strong base has been established, we focus on overlearning by regular review as we continue to develop the higher-level skills. Automaticity at each level enables the child to use their cognitive resources for more demanding higher-level tasks.
RELATIONSHIP FIRST
Many students come to us with low confidence. We ensure that strong, trusting relationships are developed so that the student can thrive. Our aim is for children to be taught by a consistent instructor so they feel comfortable and confident. Sound Connections encourages parental involvement for revision and review. We value our strong relationships with both the child and the parents.
MULTI-SENSORY LEARNING
The foundation of Sound Connections is rooted in multi-sensory learning. This incorporates teaching through as many sensory channels as possible. Using a multi-sensory approach ensures that the information is encoded at the deepest level and makes it so the information is easily accessible to the child. This also ensures that the stronger channels of learning can support the weaker channels and that all learning styles are incorporated.
Positive and Engaging
Students are highly motivated due to our hands-on, fun, and interactive style of teaching. Sound Connections instructors are trained to establish confidence through positivity and interest-driven rewards. We use games, toys, engaging challenges, and humour to make sure the child is having a great time the entire session. Who says you can’t have fun as you learn?
